Barclays staff from Ipswich Business Team were recently at The Thomas Wolsey School in Ipswich where they transformed an exciting sensory garden. The team of 20 carried out the project as part of the Barclays employee volunteering programme.
The employees worked together with Howard Construction Limited to create a large garden which included new raised beds and pathways to provide greater accessibility for the children.
Janet Ford, Community Manager for Barclays Eastern Region said, "At Barclays we are committed to communities and we are delighted to support the Thomas Wolsey School. This is a lovely example of Barclays staff working closely with the local community to achieve something which we hope will make a real and lasting difference".
Special thanks to Nathan Howard of Howard Construction Ltd, Crown Nursery Ltd, L Swann Nursery, Homebase, Wyevale Garden Centre, Elite Tree Services, Colins Skips, Collier G Catchpole and William Gillman Earle Landscapes.
Matthew Brakenbury, Deputy Headteacher from Thomas Wolsey School said, "The sensory garden has been updated and transformed with children and staff looking forward to using it during the final two weeks of this term and for many years to come. It really has been a tremendous effort from Barclays and Howard Construction and a link which we now hope will continue into the future!"
We would like to thank Barclays for their stunning efforts, which has transformed our garden from a dull area to a beautiful resting place which everyone will enjoy for generations to come. |
